Check out our Find a Dentist tool to search for dentists in your area. You'll need to know which network(s) your plan includes. You can find out which plan you have by signing in or registering for an account.
You can also search by dentist or practice name, specialty, languages spoken, gender, office hours and which dentists are accepting new patients.
If you have coverage through DeltaCare® USA, our dental health maintenance organization (DHMO) plan, you will need to choose a primary care dentist (general dentist) from our DeltaCare® USA network. Use our Find a Dentist tool to find a DeltaCare® USA dentist near you.
Three out of every four dentists participate in Delta Dental’s networks, so it's likely that your dentist is in one of ours.
Use our Find a Dentist tool to help you find out if your dentist is part of our networks. You'll also want to check your insurance to see which networks you have access to. In most cases, you can continue to visit your dentist even if he or she isn't in our network, but you'll save more money if you choose an in-network dentist. If you don’t know which networks you have access to, you can find out by signing in or registering for an account.
When you visit a network dentist, you'll enjoy the following benefits:
*If you have reached the annual dollar maximum or a frequency limitation for a given procedure covered by your policy, then you will be responsible for the charges.
It depends on your plan. Most of our plans allow you to visit any dentist you choose, while some require you to visit a network dentist in order to receive benefits. It’s important to remember that even for plans that do allow members to visit out-of-network dentists, out-of-pocket costs may be higher. Members receive the greatest value when they visit an in-network dentist.
We would be happy to talk with your dentist about the benefits of joining Delta Dental's network. Please encourage him or her to contact us.
Check your insurance information to determine if your plan requires pre-authorization to visit a specialist.
With most Delta Dental plans, you can see a specialist with no prior approval, and we have a number of specialists in our extensive national networks. On our nationwide dentist search, you have the option to search in your area for a specialist who participates in our networks, including oral surgeons, pediatric dentists and orthodontists.
Our networks are nationwide and most of our dental plans allow you to visit a dentist anywhere within the 50 states, Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico and receive the same benefits you would receive at home.
Some Delta Dental products offer coverage for dental care received outside of the U.S. Inquire with your Delta Dental or your benefits administrator to find out if your plan offers this coverage.
Most dentists will submit claim forms on your behalf. If you do need to submit a claim yourself, we have forms available for download. Please sign in to your member account to access claims forms.
Typically, one of the dental plans will be considered your primary plan. This plan will pay toward your dental care first. Any additional plans that you are covered under will pay toward whatever portion is remaining. Your plan information will have a coordination of benefits provision that explains how it is handled. The plans cannot pay more than 100 percent of the cost of your treatment.
Your Delta Dental is best equipped to help you with specific questions about your benefits and claims. To find out which Delta Dental you should contact, check your ID card or sign into your member account.
